The Foster Care Association of Victoria (FCAV) is committed to promoting and protecting the interests and safety of children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, exploitation or bullying.
The FCAV is committed to complying with the Victorian Child Safe Standards for organisations that provide services for or related to children and young people (out of home care services).
It's important that those who work with children and vulnerable people have an awareness of child abuse and the indicators that a child or young person may be at risk of harm so that we can help to protect them and prevent them from experiencing further harm.
Child Safe Standards
The Child Safe Standards are compulsory minimum requirements for organisations that provide services for children to create and maintain a child safe environment and better protect children from the risks of abuse.
The Standards aim to drive cultural change in organisations so that protecting children from abuse is embedded in everyday thinking and practice.
Community service organisations that provide services to children are required to comply with the Standards. Complying with the Standards will help organisations demonstrate they have taken appropriate actions to identify and reduce or remove risks of child abuse.

The FCAV operates with a vision that all children and young people are safe, valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
