Carer KaFÉ changes

The home-based carer learning and development program, Carer KaFÉ, facilitated through the FCAV, was put out for tender in late 2022.

Following that process, a consortium comprising the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, Kinship Carers Victoria, and the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency has been selected to deliver the learning and development program for carers.

The FCAV has proudly facilitated the Carer KaFÉ program since its inception in 2017 as a by-carers, for-carers initiative, and we thank the current and previous program management teams who have developed and delivered Victoria’s first centralised and standardised training program for carers. It has been an honour to deliver world class training sessions, carer retreats and self care opportunities, supporting Kinship, Foster and Permanent carers in the care of children and young people in home-based care in Victoria.

The new service through the consortium, will commence on 1 April 2023 and carers can still find all the program information, training opportunities and resources at: https://www.carerkafe.org.au/
