CREATE Foundation update - December 2021

 

 

In the January school holidays, the CREATE Foundation is running three CREATE Your Future (CYF) workshops for young people aged 14 – 25 with a care experience.

These will be delivered face to face in Frankston!

Each workshop is free, includes food and a fun activity – such as swimming, bowling and the movies.

Young people can register to attend one or all three workshops. Spaces are limited

CYF Workshop 1 – Call Your Shots

Delivered over 2 half days

Tue 11^th & wed 12^th Jan, 11am – 3pm both day

In this workshop we will be exploring youth participation and ways that you can get involved in making decisions that affect your life!

This workshop includes a visit to PARC for swimming

 

CYF Workshop 2 – You and Your Peeps

Delivered over 2 half days

Mon 17^th & Tue 18^th Jan, 11am – 3pm both days

In this workshop we will be learning about all types of relationships and how to have healthy relationships with others.

This workshop includes a movie at HOYTS

 

CYF Workshop 3 – Selfhood

1 full day workshop

Thursday 27^th January, 10am – 5pm

In this workshop we are exploring identity and help you reflect on your own identity and what makes you unique!

This workshop includes a visit to the venue General Public for bowling and arcade games

 

 

Speak Up Level 1

 

Become a Young Consultant with CREATE! Use your story and experiences in Out of Home Care to represent CREATE and advocate with us at local, state or national events and forums (and get paid to do it!) This training can help you to effectively contribute to discussions with decision-makers, train case workers and help change the system for other children and young people in care!

Speak Up can empower you to:

• Develop more confidence and self-awareness
• Better understand the care system
• Strengthen your communication skills and become a part of the CREATE team
