Introducing the Care Support Help Desk
The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is helping more Foster and Kinship carers get the support they need thanks to the new Care Support Help Desk.
The Care Support Help Desk is now live, with dedicated staff available to give tailored support to Foster and Kinship carers where child protection is involved, who are caring for children and young people entering care. The team will make sure they have the critical documentation they need when starting a care placement.
The team will also be able to help existing carers track vital documents for children in care, including Medicare details and birth certificates.
The Care Support Help Desk will also operate a phone line for carers during business hours, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Dedicated teams are located across the state:

If you are a Foster or Kinship Carer with an issue with your placement, please ensure you call your agency first or child protection where applicable.
The Care Support Help Desk is available if you are needing assistance with your placement, documentation or navigating child protection services, if you do not have support from an agency.
We thank all Foster and Kinship carers for the work you do helping to keep children safe and families strong across Victoria.
