In 2023, I retired from my work as a General Practitioner during which I worked with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.

Also, I am an Accredited Foster Carer doing respite care, so I have a strong interest in the Foster care system and support for carers.

Currently, I am a Board Director for North West Melbourne Primary Health Network. This term finishes on June 30th 2024 after 12 years on the board. I have also served on Public Hospital boards for 15 years, including Peter MacCallum hospital, The Womens' Hospital and 8 years at Western Health. My main interests are Quality and Safety of care and I chaired the Quality Committee on most of the boards mentioned.

I have a strong interest in giving back to my community, particularly in improving support for those with economic or social disadvantage. I gain a lot from being involved in foster care but have at times needed support. I have always received the support I have needed but I have spoken to other foster carers, and it is not always the case. I think it is important to have an organisation that provides consistent and quality support and training for foster carers, as this must improve the outcomes for children in foster care.
