David Gutteridge and his family have been foster carers since 2018. They have provided a safe and happy environment for many children during this time, with four long-term placements that have now moved on to stable and loving homes. David advocates strongly within the system for the children living is his care, to ensure that they are getting the best outcomes in life.
David lives in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and is married with two teenage daughters. In his spare time, he plays in a local band, and tries to keep fit. David has over 25 years of experience as a chemical engineer, working mostly in the Victorian water industry, both in the public and private sectors. He is currently a Group Leader at a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in Melbourne, responsible for leading a team of senior project managers and delivery specialists.
His focus on the FCAV Board is to improve the way that volunteer foster carers are treated and respected in the system, which he believes is critical as foster carers play a vital role in the lives of vulnerable children.
