Stephen Bowers is a Certified Practicing Accountant who was admitted to Fellow status during 2023 by CPA Australia. He has an accounting career spanning over 35 years, and has spent the last 15 years in Victorian State and Local Government organisations in senior Finance and Accounting roles with a particular focus on risk management, compliance, financial analysis and reporting, governance, policy, audit and budgeting. Prior to that, Stephen worked in various Finance and Accounting roles within private industry, primarily spending 18 years in the food manufacturing sector.

Stephen is community minded having been an active voluntary member of various groups and committees over his life that have enabled him to positively contribute to the many industries and communities that he has belonged to.

Stephen has 3 children of his own, is passionate about fairness and equality, and believes that everyone should be given the best chance to thrive in life. He is looking forward to joining and working with the FCAV Board, and positively contributing to the foster care sector.
