Carers - it is important to note that due to amendments to the rules on cancellation and service provision over the COVID 19 pandemic period, in many circumstances it might be necessary to provide NDIS service providers up to 10 days notice of cancellation or pay 100% of the fee. There are many other amendments that might also impact a child/young person’s allocated funding and access to ongoing services.

The FCAV therefore encourages that if your child is on an NDIS plan, that carers check in with their Agency case manager or NDIS LAC worker, if appropriate, about the changes to the cancellation policy and how that may be impacting your funded services.

The FCAV is currently in discussions with the DHHS and NDIS to mitigate the impact on services for children in OOHC.
