Carer Celebration & Annual General Meeting

The Foster Care Association of Victoria is so pleased to invite all its foster carer members to the upcoming Carer Celebration & Annual General Meeting for Foster Care Week.

Please find herein the FCAV 2023 Board Nomination Form and instructions to nominate for the Directorate of the FCAV Board. Before making a nomination, please consider your capacity to meet the time commitment of Directorship on the FCAV Board. The Board meets monthly in the evenings and undertakes place based and remote work on time sensitive projects for which Board members may be delegated responsibility.

The Foster Care Week theme for 2023 is 'Heart of Gold' referring to the huge hearts and generosity of foster carers. Please join us to celebrate foster carers and your enormous contribution at a sit-down lunch in Ballarat.

The Carer Celebration is held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of the Foster Care Association of Victoria. At the meeting, members will be asked to -

  • Accept the minutes of the last AGM

  • Accept the Annual Report

  • Accept the Auditor’s report & Financial Statements

  • Election Announcement
    • Accept the Special Resolution 

Special Resolution – Amendment of Association Rules

It is proposed to consider and, if thought fit, amend the Association Rules in accordance with the following proposed special resolution - 

“That the existing FCAV Association Rules be amended by adopting into the existing Association Rules all the insertions and deletions shown in the marked-up version of the Association Rules (Attachment 1 - Amendment of Association Rules) circulated with the notice of the annual general meeting as Attachment 1, PROVIDED THAT the new Association Rules do not take effect to the extent that they would cause the Association to lose its entitlement to - 

  • registration as a charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth);

  • deductible gift recipient endorsement under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth); and

  • all associated tax concessions.”

Note: This resolution passes as a special resolution if at least 75% of the votes cast in person or by proxy by members entitled to vote on the resolution are in favour.
