The 2024 FCAV Foster Carer Snapshot Report, collected for March of 2024 indicates a further decline of active carer household in Victoria. There are 1683 active carer households available to take placements of children and young people in Victoria, a net loss of 93 active foster carer households compared to last year.

Another record year of households exiting coupled with an 18% drop in interested households undertaking the accreditation process, continues to highlight a worrying trend in the availability of foster carer households in Victoria.
