Sep 07, 2023 7:00 AM -9:00AM GMHBAS Stadium, President's Room

This year, we are excited to launch our first ever Meli Foster a Future Breakfast on Thursday 7 September at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong. As a highlight of this special breakfast function, we will welcome media personality Myf Warhurst as MC and inspiring keynote speaker Saroo Brierley, who has a remarkable story of loss, determination and resilience. Saroo’s journey from displacement in India through to adoption in Tasmania, inspired the highly acclaimed movie Lion starring Nicole Kidman. This is a rare opportunity to hear his incredible experience first-hand while celebrating the wonderful work of Meli’s Foster Carers. Tickets are limited so purchase now to avoid disappointment. All proceeds raised will go towards supporting Meli’s Foster Carers and improving the lives of children currently in care. Ticketholders will enjoy a sit-down breakfast and barista coffee.

OzChild Annual Carer Dinner

Sep 01, 2023

Every year we recognise and acknowledge the commitment and dedication of OzChild carers at our Annual Carer Dinner event and celebrate the incredible life-changing outcomes they achieve. During the last financial year OzChild's In-Home Care program in Victoria was able to provide a safe place for 800 children and young people thanks to the extraordinary village of carers we have on our team (some 620+ households). In their volunteer roles collectively – foster and kinship carers contribute to three million hours of active caregiving each year, something we think is worth celebrating! The carer dinner provides with a wonderful opportunity to not only celebrate and thank OzChild carers for their contribution to supporting vulnerable children and young people, but also recognise their commitment to the very important role they play in the community as foster and kinship carers and welcome new carers formally into the OzChild family.
